Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug embedded software for enhancements and new products.
- Architect and implement complex Linux- and RTOS-based firmware for embedded microprocessor systems.
- Evaluate software requirements, designs, and implementations and identify design weaknesses.
- Develop software test strategies using white-box testing, unit testing, and other testing methodologies.
- Create unit-testing and white-box testing frameworks and participate in validation of in-house or off-the-shelf testing tools.
- Perform requirements breakdown analysis and deliver secure, robust embedded systems for critical infrastructure and industrial applications.
- Use in-circuit emulators, source-code debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar equipment to troubleshoot software and hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- At least 3 years of embedded firmware/software programming experience.
- In-depth experience with embedded microprocessor-based design and interfacing with analog and digital devices.
- Hands-on experience with C programming for embedded systems and multiple development and debugging IDEs.
- Strong understanding of real-time systems, interrupts, threads, scheduling, semaphores, state machines, and RTOS environments.
- Knowledge of wired and wireless communication protocols and topologies, including Ethernet, I2C, RS232, RS485/422, SPI, and BLE.
- Ability to troubleshoot, perform root-cause analysis, read schematics, and debug analog and digital hardware.
- Ability to manage multiple development projects and work effectively in a fast-paced product-development environment.
- Familiarity with SNMP, DNP, and IEC61850 is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are required.
