Responsibilities
- Translate clinical, user, and product needs into software behavior, designs, interfaces, and verification approaches.
- Design, implement, debug, test, integrate, and release production-quality software.
- Develop prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate product and technical ideas.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
- Contribute to medical-device software documentation and applicable quality and cybersecurity processes.
- Collaborate with clinical, product, systems, UX, quality, and other engineering specialists.
- Communicate technical decisions, progress, and risks clearly.
- Provide technical guidance or mentoring appropriate to the selected career level.
- Travel up to 10% and attend laboratory sessions, surgeries, customer observations, or field activities when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing, implementing, debugging, and testing software in at least one language appropriate to the product.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools for software design, implementation, testing, debugging, or documentation, with independent validation and adherence to security and confidentiality requirements.
- Working knowledge of software design, source control, code review, and automated testing.
- Ability to solve technical problems, learn unfamiliar software systems, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with medical devices, robotics, navigation, imaging, surgical systems, regulated or safety-critical industries, or relevant application, UI, service, data, algorithm, device, firmware, or test technologies.
- Preferred: familiarity with medical-device software development, design controls, risk management, clinical users, customers, service teams, end users, or technical mentoring.
