- Own backend and control-plane software covering customer-facing APIs, resource lifecycles, and workload deployment across edge infrastructure.
- Develop clean APIs, CLI tooling, predictable behavior, and useful error messages for a strong developer experience.
- Build reliable deployment, configuration, storage, and observability workflows that handle retries, state, and multi-service failure cases.
- Work with Kubernetes and runtime infrastructure while diagnosing latency, throughput, and reliability issues.
- Build operational tooling, participate in on-call, and support highly available services across multiple regions and data centres.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Go, or strong experience with Rust, Java, or C++ plus interest in writing Go day-to-day.
- Solid distributed systems fundamentals, including experience debugging production service-to-service problems and understanding retries, partial failures, and idempotency.
- Experience designing APIs and resource models for other engineers to use.
- Experience with relational databases, schemas, transactions, and migrations.
- Experience building asynchronous systems with queues, background jobs, state machines, or similar patterns.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and interest in building software that deploys and manages workloads on Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
- Experience running highly available services, including on-call participation.
- Preferred experience includes developer tools, platforms, control planes, runtimes, Kubernetes controllers or operators, serverless or edge-compute platforms, multi-region systems, and open-source contributions in the Go ecosystem.
