Responsibilities
- Develop low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers, including reusable device drivers and system-level features.
- Own complex firmware features for embedded systems and architect changes across a growing codebase.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries.
- Select microcontrollers and peripherals and review schematics with electrical engineering teams.
- Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality while managing multiple projects.
Requirements
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer/software engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- Able to start full time in 2026, preferably October 4, 2026.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Python.
- Ability to understand complex systems, solve technical problems with limited oversight, and communicate clearly.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include embedded firmware development, strong embedded C skills, sensor and microcontroller integration, bare-metal or RTOS development, hardware debugging, board bring-up, bus protocols, multiple microcontroller cores, and satellite mission autonomy.
