Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design, planning, execution, and testing of large features and initiatives.
- Lead technical discovery and make tradeoff decisions across team and cross-team projects.
- Build, refactor, optimize, and harden high-quality, scalable web software while limiting regressions.
- Use code review, pairing, and mentorship to raise engineering standards and support L1 and L2 engineers.
- Participate in technical interviews and hiring decisions.
- Identify and resolve risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Champion practical AI-assisted development practices and participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of commercial software development experience.
- 6+ years of experience working with web applications.
- Demonstrated success leading non-trivial projects from design through delivery.
- Expertise in React and/or GraphQL.
- Strong experience building, optimizing, and scaling web applications based on customer and internal feedback.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based and web technologies, responsive web design, and user behavior.
- Deep understanding of software design patterns and when not to use them.
- Experience mentoring other engineers.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, organization, prioritization, and quality-focused skills.
- Fluency with AI tools and workflows and sound judgment in applying them.
- Preferred qualifications include B2B web application or SaaS experience, PHP/SQL experience, NodeJS/NestJS experience, Angular expertise, and proximity to the Charlotte, NC metro area.
