Responsibilities
- Develop production applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
- Design and implement REST APIs, microservices, API contracts, validation, abstraction boundaries, and error-handling strategies.
- Integrate relational databases using SQL, JDBC, JPA, or equivalent technologies.
- Implement Spring Security authentication and authorization using OAuth2 and OIDC patterns.
- Design applications for distributed and cloud environments and deploy or support them using Docker and Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
- Build automated tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, MockMvc, and integration-testing techniques.
- Troubleshoot issues across UI, API, database, and integration layers.
- Implement secure coding practices and OWASP application-security principles.
- Establish production observability through structured logging, correlation IDs, metrics, and health checks.
- Make engineering trade-offs, document architectural decisions, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on software-development experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Deep knowledge of Java fundamentals, including collections, streams, concurrency, object-oriented design, and modern Java language features.
- Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on production experience with React and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC authentication and authorization, SQL, and relational database integration.
- Experience with distributed or cloud application design, Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing, Git-based development, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across UI, API, database, and integration layers.
- Understanding of secure coding and OWASP application-security principles, as well as production observability practices.
- Preferred experience with Azure, AKS, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Azure Workload Identity, Key Vault, Databricks, ADLS, Trino, Starburst, Terraform, Helm, and Redis or similar distributed caching or session solutions.
