Responsibilities
- Lead development of complex Android features and system components while balancing business needs with technical quality.
- Serve as an Android subject matter expert on best practices, code quality, performance, and scalability.
- Mentor junior SE1/SE2 engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Identify technical risks, architectural improvements, and innovation opportunities in the mobile ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Product, UX/UI, Analytics, Backend, and other cross-functional partners to deliver business features.
- Drive initiatives involving automation, observability, system reliability, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to technical documentation, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Participate in production support and root cause analysis for critical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing Android applications with Java and Kotlin.
- At least 5 years of experience with source control, branching strategies, and code collaboration workflows, with Git preferred.
- Proven experience shipping applications to the Google Play Store and maintaining them in production.
- Experience developing and maintaining highly transactional, mission-critical, consumer-facing mobile applications.
- Proficiency with unit testing using JUnit and Mockito, UI testing using Espresso, and automated integration testing.
- Experience with build tools and CI/CD pipelines such as Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Harness.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and Firebase.
- Strong knowledge of mobile security best practices including encryption, secure storage, and authentication.
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, or Swift is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, problem solving, decision quality, collaboration, and communication.
