Responsibilities
- Improve MongoDB Server programmability functionality and develop low-level libraries, runtimes, and tools.
- Lead medium-sized projects through ideation, requirements gathering, design, execution, and delivery.
- Write production-ready C++ code and unit, integration, and performance regression tests using C++, JavaScript, and Python.
- Investigate server performance characteristics and diagnose customer- or testing-reported issues.
- Participate in code reviews, feature design, candidate interviews, customer escalations, and cross-team initiatives.
- Lead development of new features and help mentor new engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of systems programming experience in C++ or other low-level programming languages.
- Hands-on experience building production-level code; C++ experience is required.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture.
- Interest or experience in operating systems, development tools, programming languages, low-level C++ libraries, distributed systems, and performance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-team stakeholders.
