Base Salary
$262k - $364k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead client media innovation involving next-generation codecs and formats such as AV1/2 and Spatial Audio.
- Evolve the mobile player architecture and platform across YouTube products and video formats.
- Leverage on-device GPUs and NPUs for advanced rendering effects and contribute to networking and cryptography stack advancements.
- Conduct deep investigations to improve performance at scale.
- Drive technical collaboration with internal teams, industry partners, OEMs, SoCs, network operators, and technical standards bodies.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Experiment with emerging technologies such as generative AI.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in software engineering.
- 3 years of experience in mobile engineering, such as iOS or Android, or mobile media experience involving codecs or graphics.
- Preferred experience as a tech lead, formal mentor, or go-to expert for a team.
- Preferred experience with video, music, or other media-related products.
- Preferred experience designing, building, and operating systems at large scale.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
Benefits
- US base pay is $262000-$364000, plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
