Responsibilities
- Participate in the full lifecycle of user-facing applications at scale, including design, implementation, testing, and production.
- Develop an understanding of the business, industry, codebase, and systems.
- Write, test, instrument, and deploy high-quality code with strong test coverage to a Kubernetes environment.
- Contribute to the innovation and evolution of ZipRecruiter products.
- Complete team sprint work and an individual project focused on code quality, performance, trade-offs, iteration, scope, and scalability.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Computer Science degree-seeking program or related technical field, with expected graduation between December 2027 and November 2028.
- Demonstrated software engineering foundation through previous internship experience or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Python or Java.
- Ability to work in person at the Santa Monica office during the summer.
- Interest in specializing in Big Data, Full Stack, or Machine Learning.
- Preferred: fluency in multiple programming languages or ability to learn new languages quickly.
- Preferred: experience with non-relational and relational database systems.
- Preferred: exposure to client-side development using React, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Preferred: analytical, problem-solving, self-starter, and user-experience skills.
