Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time DSP algorithms, microcontroller firmware, and digital circuits.
- Optimize signal-processing algorithms and embedded systems for latency, throughput, memory usage, and processing efficiency.
- Verify and validate systems while conducting code reviews, design evaluations, and testing.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve complex real-time system issues to ensure reliability and robustness.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance and best practices.
- Design systems that comply with applicable regulatory standards.
- Propose solutions to technical challenges and contribute to process and workflow improvements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Stay current with DSP and microcontroller technologies and introduce innovative system-design approaches.
Requirements
- Professional experience designing, simulating, implementing, verifying, and validating digital circuits on DSP and microcontroller platforms.
- Professional programming experience in C++ and C.
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems, including FreeRTOS and Zephyr.
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
- Experience with peripheral standards and communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, RS232, and RGMII.
- Familiarity with Bash and Python scripting.
- Proficiency with source-code revision control, especially Git.
- Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Knowledge of SHARC or equivalent DSP architectures is desirable.
- Knowledge of CMake, digital signal-processing algorithms, complex digital electronic circuits, GitLab, Docker, Artifactory, and FPGA technologies is desirable.
- Experience with application-layer protocols such as DNP, 1588, and MQTT is desirable.
- Knowledge of electronic components and PCB reworking is desirable.
