Responsibilities
- Lead pre- and post-sales technical design and planning sessions as the field team’s technical lead.
- Understand customer workflows and requirements, design high-level solutions, and develop detailed solution designs and bills of materials.
- Present IP-based broadcast technologies and solutions to broadcasters, telecom operators, business partners, and other customers.
- Act as the technical solution owner throughout the sales cycle and support solution proposals, statements of work, and execution.
- Lead or participate in remote and onsite customer proof-of-concepts.
- Oversee solution implementation during delivery and provide operational training, software and firmware upgrade support, and post-sale assistance.
- Work with customers and internal technical teams to integrate Sony solutions and improve reliability, availability, and serviceability.
- Communicate customer requirements and feedback to product management and support product roadmap and feature improvements.
- Support customer outreach, sales calls, systems presentations, system integrator channel activities, and partner engagement.
- Coordinate customer satisfaction follow-up and document technical and commercial requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is required; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and deploying live production environments for broadcast television is required.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting complex SMPTE ST 2110 IP-based media environments is required.
- Strong understanding of video contribution technologies and deep knowledge of JPEG2000, JPEG XS, H.264, H.265, and TICO compression algorithms is required.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking and ideally broadcast technologies is required.
- Proven track record in technical solution selling is required.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across internal and external organizations are required.
- Strong organization and time-management skills are required.
- Ability to work in a virtual environment and from home is required.
- Ability to travel between 90 and 120 days per year is required; additional language skills are a plus.
