Base Salary
$189k - $283k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and validate ML models for realistic simulated lidar, radar, and camera data.
- Integrate 3DGS and NeRF-based 3D reconstruction with simulation across sensor modalities.
- Build and curate datasets from real and simulated sensor data, including GenAI-based augmentation.
- Define sensor-realism metrics and help close high-impact sim-to-real gaps with simulation validation and perception teams.
- Mentor engineers and interns and establish best practices for training and deploying ML on Zoox sensor data.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience developing ML models in Python with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Industry experience applying ML to sensor data such as lidar, radar, and/or cameras.
- Strong understanding of customizing, tuning, and validating ML training pipelines.
- Preferred experience with diffusion, flow matching, or VAEs.
- Preferred experience with 3D reconstruction, including 3DGS or NeRFs, or differentiable rendering.
- Preferred experience developing autonomy in autonomous vehicles or other robotics and computer vision contexts.
