Base Salary

$99k - $121k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and support custom software applications for process development and manufacturing environments.
  • Build process-monitoring, production-data collection, workflow, reporting, visualization, dashboard, analytics, and decision-support applications.
  • Integrate software with PLCs, data historians, IoT platforms, manufacturing systems, laboratory hardware, edge-computing environments, and cloud or hybrid systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D, process development, manufacturing, automation, quality, and IT teams to translate technical needs into practical software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, interface, and process-system issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support software architecture, version control, code review, testing, documentation, deployment, lifecycle support, and transition from prototypes or pilots to production-scale use cases.
  • Create technical documentation, user instructions, and support materials for sustainable implementation and knowledge transfer.
  • Consider cybersecurity, reliability, and operational requirements when developing connected manufacturing software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • At least three years of experience in software development, industrial software, manufacturing software, automation-related software, or related technical work.
  • Experience with custom software application development, including design, development, testing, and support.
  • Experience programming in one or more modern languages such as C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with databases, APIs, system integrations, or connected data environments.
  • Experience with smart manufacturing, process manufacturing, digital process development, industrial automation, shop-floor applications, or production scaling.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reporting tools, data visualizations, analytics applications, or AI/ML-enabled manufacturing solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues across software, hardware, and manufacturing process interfaces.
  • Experience with source control, testing, release management, deployment support, R&D, pilot-line, laboratory-to-manufacturing, or production scale-up environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document technical solutions and work across multidisciplinary teams.
