Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructure across public and private clouds.
- Develop tools, automation frameworks, visualizations, and monitoring systems to improve infrastructure operations and optimization.
- Create, manage, and standardize cloud AMIs and images across multiple environments in alignment with compliance standards.
- Participate in technical operations and on-call rotations, addressing cloud, operating system, network, performance, and reliability incidents.
- Improve the infrastructure lifecycle from ideation and design through development, deployment, support, and continuous refinement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in Linux operations, SRE, or DevOps.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, or C++, with engineering experience in platform development, system tooling, and automation.
- Strong fundamentals in Linux operating systems, computer networks, storage systems, GPU systems, and databases, plus troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting, capacity management, change management, canary or gray releases, incident response, and postmortems.
- Preferred experience operating public cloud platforms, including OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred experience with cloud host delivery, image or AMI systems, resource scheduling, network adaptation, KVM/QEMU, Docker, Kubernetes, containerd, cgroups, and namespaces.
- Preferred experience maintaining GPU clusters, including drivers, CUDA, MIG, topology awareness, troubleshooting, stress testing, and GPU delivery pipelines.
- Large-scale production operations, reliability initiatives, open-source contributions, technical blogs, patents, or technical sharing experience are advantageous.
