Responsibilities
- Develop firmware requirements and modular firmware designs for embedded products.
- Analyze, design, implement, verify, and release firmware solutions.
- Develop low-level driver interfaces and troubleshoot hardware and firmware technical challenges.
- Create and execute or manage test cases, log defects, and support firmware verification.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, version control, and software quality practices.
- Document designs and work using tools such as UML and mentor or guide technical team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics or equivalent engineering qualification with a programming focus.
- 8–10 years of embedded firmware development experience for an embedded product.
- Experience understanding hardware interfaces and working with hardware engineering teams.
- Expertise with C/C++ compilers and linkers, 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers, and standalone and RTOS-based firmware.
- Experience developing low-level drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, and displays.
- Experience with distributed version control tools such as Git or Mercurial.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a global engineering environment and participate effectively in a team.
- Knowledge of requirements-management tools such as Jama is required or must be learned.
- Bluetooth communication experience is preferred.
