Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications and features focused on algorithmic and mathematical functionality.
- Write clean, structured, and maintainable code principally using C#.
- Understand existing algorithms, their parameters, and key use cases, and identify ways to improve and extend them.
- Contribute to development design, specification, refinement, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Work with customers and colleagues to understand requirements and explain algorithm behaviours.
- Own complex development work, contribute to technical decisions, and support and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and contribute to team improvements.
Requirements
- Strong commercial software development experience, including strong commercial experience using C#.
- Experience working on systems with significant algorithmic or mathematical components.
- Strong logical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of software development practices including version control, CI, and testing.
- Ability to write and test code against functional and non-functional requirements.
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts.
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or TypeScript is advantageous.
