Responsibilities
- Design motor control models in MATLAB/Simulink for synchronous, induction, and permanent magnet motors.
- Develop embedded software features and interface model-based code with C/C++ modules.
- Simulate and test models locally and on variable frequency drives and motors.
- Optimize code for performance, memory requirements, and simplicity.
- Validate code for reliability and safety and participate in code reviews and requirements specifications.
- Lead investigations of anomalies, new features, and control algorithms.
- Organize activities of other employees and collaborate with control firmware engineers in an agile/Scrum environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of motor control algorithms, power converters, converter control schemes, modulation strategies, and drive-system modeling.
- Experience with model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink and knowledge of C/C++.
- Preferred qualifications include 12+ years of related experience, embedded software development experience emphasizing model-based design and real-time systems, and experience developing motor drives or power-converter control systems.
- Master of Science in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and experience in a SAFe environment are preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
