Responsibilities
- Build and improve large-scale infrastructure for ML training, post-training, offline processing, inference, and serving.
- Work closely with modeling teams on model–system codesign and GPU-optimized inference.
- Solve open-ended distributed systems and AI infrastructure challenges at Netflix scale.
- Participate as an embedded member of an AI Platform project team matched to the intern’s interests and skills.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Systems, Networking, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Have research or applied experience in distributed systems, distributed training or serving infrastructure, ML training platforms, post-training or offline infrastructure, inference and serving optimization, GPU-optimized inference, or model–system codesign.
- Be proficient in Python.
- Be familiar with distributed compute frameworks and ML training or serving stacks.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in open-ended infrastructure problems.
- Experience with Go, C++, or Rust is a strong plus.
- Publications or research alignment with systems venues such as OSDI, SOSP, or NSDI, applied ML venues, or prior ML infrastructure industry or internship experience are nice to have.
