Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve application reliability and performance directly in the TypeScript codebase.
- Partner with product engineers on design and code reviews with reliability and security in mind.
- Design and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Loki, Alloy, and Grafana.
- Define and measure SLIs and SLOs and connect alerting to reliability targets.
- Serve as incident responder and incident commander when needed.
- Run blameless postmortems and convert root-cause findings into code or process improvements.
- Automate repetitive operational work and share production-readiness practices across teams, including air-gapped environments.
- Work closely with product engineers, SREs, security, platform, DevOps, and customer success teams.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance.
- At least five years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or a related role, including substantial application-code work.
- Strong TypeScript experience or comparable modern-language experience with willingness to work primarily in TypeScript.
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including design, code review, testing, release, and reliability practices.
- Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and implementing lasting fixes.
- Application development with TypeScript, Node, and/or a modern front-end framework.
- Experience building and maintaining pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
- Comfort with at least one of Python, Go, or Bash for tooling and automation.
- Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes for debugging and deployment.
- Networking fundamentals and secure configuration basics.
- Preferred experience includes Grafana stack, ELK, Datadog, Terraform, Ansible, AWS, AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes cluster operations, SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, GitOps, DoD environments, RMF, STIGs, ICD 503, Istio, Linkerd, VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix, or Hyper-V.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA, or CKAD are a plus.
