Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure operating systems, including kernels, runtimes, and system services.
- Work with multifunctional teams to bring up, test, debug, and verify software for new platforms and products.
- Contribute to security requirements and features for future hardware.
- Develop core operating-system technology for Apple platforms and subsystems such as the Secure Enclave Processor OS.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Able to commit to a four-month internship, preferably starting in January 2027.
- Preferred background in operating-systems development, including kernels, low-level runtimes, system services, driver frameworks, or component models.
- Understanding of system construction principles in a microkernel-based environment and of computer architecture, including CPUs, memory, caches, and interrupts.
- Proficiency in systems programming languages such as C.
- Familiarity with type systems, undefined-behavior prevention, property-based testing, formal verification, and identifying security flaws such as buffer overruns.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
