Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own scalable and resilient services from system design and API design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Drive technical direction by evaluating trade-offs and establishing practices for code quality, observability, and performance.
- Collaborate with product, design, and partner engineering teams to deliver integrated and reliable solutions.
- Resolve production issues and improve reliability through automation and monitoring.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and influence engineering best practices across teams.
- Lead or contribute to performance tuning, capacity planning, resilience engineering, incident response, and post-incident analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience.
- High proficiency in Java/JVM languages such as Scala and Kotlin, or systems languages such as Rust.
- Demonstrated ownership of services or components across technical design, implementation, quality, and operational health.
- Strong low-level system design, API design, and data modeling skills.
- Experience with large-scale, high-traffic distributed systems, microservices architectures, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, resilience engineering, observability, metrics, alerting, incident response, and post-incident analysis is preferred.
- Hands-on Rust or other systems-level language experience for performance-critical, low-latency components is preferred.
- Technical leadership experience, including design and code reviews and mentoring or coaching junior engineers, is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-driven development tools for code generation, testing, and operational insights is preferred.
