Responsibilities
- Develop and modernize software across greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Design and implement pragmatic, sustainable technical solutions within business and government constraints.
- Contribute to technical strategy by establishing standards, reusable components, frameworks, and shared infrastructure.
- Identify root causes, dependencies, risks, and constraints through analytical, evidence-based problem solving.
- Communicate technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Share knowledge through documentation, mentorship, and practices that enable other teams.
- Work within security, compliance, governance, and data-sovereignty requirements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience with progression in technical complexity and scope.
- Strong foundation in software architecture, system design, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with modern technology stacks relevant to government systems, including Java, Salesforce, Kotlin, or cloud platforms such as GCC and AWS.
- Experience with greenfield development and brownfield modernization projects.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability.
- Ability to work independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, and align with broader organizational goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including testing, validation, and root-cause analysis.
- Preferred experience in government or regulated industries, compliance and governance, platform or cloud migrations, technical standards, reusable frameworks, grant management, social services systems, or ministry family domains.
