Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, automate, monitor, and support significant components of modern digital service platforms in production.
- Design scalable, resilient, efficient, secure, cost-effective solutions that minimize vendor lock-in.
- Use AWS public cloud platforms, automation tools, configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, and container orchestration to solve business problems.
- Implement modern continuous delivery processes for production software releases.
- Contribute to architecture, technical decisions, estimation, product planning, user story and requirement creation, and MVP advocacy.
- Debug complex problems across multiple servers, services, and tools.
- Support live production operations and continuously improve service availability, security, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, testing, consulting, product management, and security teams.
- Coach and mentor junior team members and support an inclusive DevOps culture.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Significant expertise with multiple configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, and automation tools.
- Fluency in at least one of PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, or Groovy.
- Experience designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring, and supporting production digital service platforms.
- Experience applying security, elasticity, performance, and other industry best practices across infrastructure and application components.
- Experience using modern version control systems, including Git.
- Active security clearance is required.
- A third-level or equivalent qualification in a related discipline is desirable.
- A mid-level certification with a public cloud provider, particularly Azure, is desirable.
- Experience with cloud-native SaaS and PaaS technologies is desirable.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching junior staff is desirable.
