Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end ABAP Cloud extensibility solutions for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud while applying Clean Core principles.
- Lead solution design for WRICEF objects, RAP Business Objects, CDS Views, BADIs, and API-based integrations.
- Define and govern ABAP technical blueprints, coding standards, design patterns, peer reviews, and maintainability practices.
- Design and implement CDS Views, RAP Business Objects, BADIs, OData/REST APIs, Communication Arrangements, and Adobe Forms.
- Oversee transport strategy, Software Collections, transport sequencing, and dependency management across landscapes.
- Perform performance optimization, deep-dive issue analysis, root cause analysis, and impact assessments for critical issues.
- Configure and manage job scheduling and Application Jobs in S/4HANA Cloud.
- Coach and mentor junior and mid-level ABAP engineers through workshops, design reviews, debugging support, and code reviews.
- Partner with Finance, IT, Change Management, users, suppliers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of ABAP development experience, including at least 2–3 years with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public or Private Edition.
- Experience as a technical architect or lead owning solution design for complex ERP extensibility programs.
- Deep expertise in CDS View modeling, Virtual Data Model design, RAP Business Object lifecycles, WRICEF development, extensibility frameworks, SAP APIs, Communication Scenarios, BADIs, Adobe Forms, Object-Oriented ABAP, design patterns, and cloud job management.
- Strong understanding of SAP Clean Core strategy and its implications for extensibility decisions.
- Ability to set technical direction, govern standards, and influence without formal authority.
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers across multiple seniority levels.
- Strong communication skills for engaging technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Experience with Eclipse ADT, Transport Requests, Software Collections, OData/REST APIs, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Application Jobs.
