Responsibilities

  • Design and govern scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise software solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery workshops, capture requirements, evaluate architectural options, and establish engineering standards across multiple teams.
  • Create repeatable solution architectures, recommendations, proposals, and scopes of work for complex customer and business requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership for solution architecture strategy, architecture governance, and design authority for products and services.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to shape technical solutions and support new business opportunities.
  • Apply secure-by-design principles, threat modelling, identity and access management, least-privilege principles, and non-functional requirements.
  • Mentor engineers and solution architects while sharing knowledge of emerging trends, methodologies, and architecture practices.
  • Deliver strategic initiatives and advise senior leadership on the long-term direction of solution architecture.

Requirements

  • Extensive software engineering experience with modern development practices, code quality standards, automated testing, and technical governance.
  • Proven experience designing and governing scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise solutions.
  • Experience delivering software in highly regulated, security-sensitive, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure-by-design principles, OWASP, threat modelling, identity and access management, least-privilege principles, and non-functional requirements.
  • Ability to provide technical decision-making authority and mentor engineers across the engineering function.
  • Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills across the stack.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms for application performance optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerisation, observability, and platform automation.
  • Experience with multi-tenanted, cloud-native, distributed, or microservices-based architectures.
  • Experience in government, defence, telecommunications, financial services, utilities, or other highly regulated environments is desirable.
  • CISP, CISSP, TOGAF, Azure Architecture, or AWS Architecture certification, or demonstrable equivalent experience, is desirable.
  • Eligibility for the required security clearance is necessary.
