Responsibilities
- Own and evolve shared software components used across multiple Rocket products.
- Provide technical leadership for platform capability design and development, including architectural standards and decisions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by mentoring engineers and providing training, documentation, and hands-on guidance.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams on strategic modernization and middleware solutions.
- Identify systemic challenges and improve platform capabilities, performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and developer experience.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Java.
- Familiarity with IBM z/OS mainframe operating systems.
- Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting complex, high-performance software systems.
- Highly desirable: HLASM programming experience and familiarity with ISPF, REXX, and DTL.
- Highly desirable: technical knowledge of mainframe subsystems including IMS and CICS.
- Strong technical judgment, architectural thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, and proactive technology evaluation skills.
