Responsibilities
- Survey established standards and tools for software supply-chain security, provenance, policy-as-code, and AI documentation.
- Define risk classifications and the controls required for each classification.
- Specify a provenance model for AI-generated work, tools, models, approvers, commits, pull requests, and agent logs.
- Define human sign-off points and machine-checkable acceptance criteria for code, tests, ADRs, infrastructure-as-code, and documentation.
- Implement the quality gate as a CLI and CI job with agent self-checks and a blocking pull-request check running in under three minutes.
- Create signed release gate records, manage reviewed exceptions with expiry dates, and evaluate false positives, runtime, and developer friction on a real ELCA codebase.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering at EPFL or ETH Zürich.
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, Go, or Java.
- Fluency with Git and CI/CD systems including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure Pipelines.
- Interest in supply-chain security, static analysis, policy-as-code, or developer tooling.
- Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
- Ability to turn standards or regulations into implementable engineering specifications.
- English fluency; French or German is a plus.
- Latest academic transcripts must be included with the application.
