Lead Solutions Architect - Generative AI (EMEA Emerging DNB)

Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for Generative AI, LLMs, and applied machine learning across strategic EMEA Emerging DNB customer engagements.
- Partner with Solutions Architects, Solutions Engineers, and Account teams to design and de-risk GenAI use cases, including retrieval-augmented generation, agents, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
- Build hands-on proofs of concept and production-quality reference implementations for LLM and deep learning workloads on Databricks.
- Lead model-customization engagements involving open LLMs and judge-based or label-efficient evaluation.
- Bridge customer and field feedback with Product and Engineering roadmaps.
- Mentor and enable the field engineering organization through workshops, reference architectures, and internal training.
- Represent Databricks through conference talks, blogs, and customer executive briefings.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of proprietary and open-source LLMs, providers, capabilities, trade-offs, and use-case suitability.
- Deep expertise in LLM application patterns, fine-tuning, model customization, prompt and evaluation engineering, and LLM safety guardrails.
- Strong machine learning and deep learning foundations, including distributed training, GPU workloads, and the MLOps lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Python and the ML ecosystem, including PyTorch, Transformers, MLflow, and Spark.
- Experience with Databricks or the ability to learn it quickly, including Mosaic AI, Model Serving, Vector Search, and Unity Catalog.
- Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent communication and consultative skills with both technical practitioners and senior executives.
- Track record of technical leadership and mentorship.
- Experience supporting digital-native customers with data and ML solutions is a strong plus.
- Public technical presence, regulated-industry experience, and experience influencing Product and Engineering roadmaps are nice to have.
