Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead embedded software development, verification, and validation activities while meeting delivery, budgetary, quality, and regulatory objectives.
- Design, develop, test, document, and maintain embedded software throughout the medical-device software lifecycle.
- Lead technical teams, mentor less experienced engineers, and provide technical guidance on software development and maintenance.
- Develop test methods, testing tools, manufacturing tools, and analysis tools, and document testing results.
- Implement software design controls in accordance with FDA guidelines and support conformance with IEC 62304 and IEC 60601 standards.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers on requirements, design, testing, system bring-up, and technical reviews.
- Lead discovery and development of breakthrough solutions for future products.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for technical and executive audiences.
- Work with quality, regulatory, marketing, manufacturing, external suppliers, manufacturers, physicians, customers, and coworkers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in engineering or a related field, or a master’s degree in a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; the posting also states at least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with software engineering or a master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced programming experience in C, C++, C#, or Python, including C programming for embedded systems and ARM-based microcontrollers.
- Systems engineering experience in a medical product development environment.
- Experience debugging embedded hardware and knowledge of embedded systems design, embedded firmware, communication protocols, motors, RFID, sensors, and user interfaces.
- Experience with data acquisition and data processing and the ability to apply appropriate engineering methods and techniques.
- Expert-level experience in one or more product development disciplines such as microprocessor-based systems, brushless motors, sensor technologies, embedded software, RFID, communication protocols, or user interfaces.
- Preferred: at least 7 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5 years with a master’s degree; medical-device experience is preferred.
- Preferred: advanced data analytics and data-driven solutions experience, analog and digital circuit design experience, and detailed knowledge of IEC 62304 and IEC 60601-1.
- Preferred: experience designing and implementing CI/CD and HIL pipelines for embedded projects.
- Preferred: experience using AI to draft requirements and documentation, write unit tests, conduct code reviews, and refactor code.
- Strong written and oral communication, organization, multitasking, self-management, creativity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
