Base Salary
$120k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Python services that ingest, organize, store, and expose manufacturing data from shop-floor, test, and enterprise sources.
- Integrate manufacturing systems including MES, ERP, QMS, PLM, and data platforms.
- Turn ad hoc production and operations requests into reusable, documented tools with clear interfaces and adoption paths.
- Develop software that communicates with devices and services across factory networks, including multiple subnets and VLANs.
- Containerize, deploy, and operate services using Docker or equivalent tools in a major cloud environment.
- Debug connectivity, routing, and interface issues across factory networks.
- Establish practical engineering standards for system design, code quality, CI/CD, and maintainability.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, and production engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with end-to-end system ownership.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Hands-on experience building and operating software in Azure, AWS, or an equivalent major cloud environment.
- Experience designing scalable systems and organizing data from multiple sources and formats into usable storage, access, and application layers.
- Working knowledge of IP addressing, routing, subnetting, VLANs, and device connectivity.
- Practical Docker or equivalent container experience.
- Working Linux fluency, including command-line operation, services, logs, permissions, and basic networking.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory.
- Fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT.
- Ability to collaborate across factory functions and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship and a current DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one are required.
- Preferred experience includes aerospace, defense, manufacturing, high-growth startups, Palantir Foundry, MES/MOM, ERP, QMS, CRM, data and ontology platforms, JavaScript or TypeScript, production software deployment, DevOps/DevSecOps, digital manufacturing, factory automation, shop-floor OT–IT systems, and guiding other engineers.
