Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and databases.
- Lead technical direction for modules and subsystems while contributing directly to implementation.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modern, cloud-ready and microservices-based architectures.
- Design backend services, data models, RESTful APIs, and integration solutions.
- Perform architecture discussions, technical trade-off analysis, and design guidance using object-oriented and layered or hexagonal architecture principles.
- Improve application performance through profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability enhancements.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking, static analysis, and collaboration with QA teams.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers across teams.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery activities, including planning, reviews, retrospectives, deployments, and maintenance.
- Support API-based, file-based, event-driven, and message-based integrations.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful API design, SQL, Eclipse RCP, Angular, React, and MongoDB.
- Experience with microservices architecture, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate/JPA, and transaction management.
- Experience with Azure cloud-native development, Azure Service Bus or similar integration platforms, Docker, Azure DevOps, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, unit testing, mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, performance profiling, memory analysis, and SonarQube.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, layered architectures, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Experience in product development environments and understanding of product development lifecycle and Lean Agile/Scrum practices.
- Experience with shipping/logistics workflows or scientific data processing is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset.
