Responsibilities
- Own the design and technical direction of complex cybersecurity engineering solutions.
- Define security architectures, engineering standards, lifecycle plans, capabilities, and roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional implementation and integration of security technologies, including testing, operational readiness, documentation, and transition to service.
- Provide lifecycle and operational ownership for critical cybersecurity platforms and controls.
- Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex security engineering problems, high-priority incidents, and control deficiencies.
- Lead security reviews and risk assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend mitigations.
- Mentor Information Security Engineering team members through design reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Research emerging threats and technologies and communicate recommendations, metrics, investment cases, and risks to leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in information technology or information security, including significant experience in security engineering, cloud security, security architecture, security operations, incident response, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, enterprise-impacting initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of security platforms, cloud controls, identity and access management, network security, detection and response, vulnerability management, and secure technology integration.
- Hands-on capability with scripting and automation, security tooling, TCP/IP and network protocols, zero trust principles, and AWS, Azure, or GCP security controls.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent industry certifications; relevant cloud, network, identity, platform, or vendor certifications are also valued.
- Ability to lead complex initiatives, manage dependencies and risks, make risk-based decisions, communicate strategically, and mentor technical teams.
