Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct software assurance activities, including plan and process reviews, testing witness activities, inspections, and audits.
- Review software plans, documentation, and software aspects of system-level plans and documents.
- Engage with system designers, software developers, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure software meets requirements.
- Identify, document, manage, and report software-related risks and evidence to senior management.
- Resolve non-conformances and programme issues with stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop software assurance capability within the team and wider business.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and experience of software assurance methods and processes, including auditing and reviews.
- Understanding of software engineering, security, quality, and safety standards, including Defence Standard 00-055, BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511, DO-178B/C, DO-254, and DO-331.
- Understanding of software lifecycles across different software types, including programmable electronics.
- Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and its relationship to software.
- Ability to solve complex problems pragmatically, think logically, and gain stakeholder support for resolutions.
