Base Salary
$158k - $214k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-throughput, low-latency ad retrieval and enrichment services.
- Build and scale model-serving infrastructure for real-time embedding inference.
- Develop distributed pipelines that create and refresh approximate nearest-neighbor indexes across hundreds of millions of ads.
- Deliver real-time delivery speed, locality, and return-eligibility signals for ad filtering and ranking.
- Productionize retrieval models and indexes through A/B experiments, analyzing results to determine what ships.
- Own features end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and on-call operations.
- Improve operational excellence through caching, graceful degradation, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
- Mentor peers through code and design reviews.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- 1+ year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- 1+ year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ year of object-oriented design experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience with low-latency, high-throughput distributed services; search or vector retrieval systems; production machine-learning or generative-AI model serving; and large-scale data processing such as Spark.
- Preferred: background in advertising technology, recommendation systems, or e-commerce platforms.
