Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, high-performance control plane and observability infrastructure.
- Build monitoring infrastructure for I/O counters, latency, temperature, performance, and errors.
- Implement control interfaces for system, drive, power, firmware, encryption, and LED management.
- Analyze and reduce boot drive logging while developing infrastructure for advanced log data recorder tools.
- Collaborate across teams to identify issues and improve system reliability.
- Manage and troubleshoot system logs and data for optimal performance.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improved software development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- At least 3 years of software development and systems engineering experience.
- Experience using Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
- Proficiency building distributed systems and control plane functionality.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus.
- Familiarity with fb303, scribe, and t-digest.
- Understanding of gRPC or other interprocess communication technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, technical analysis, design, and collaboration skills.
