Base Salary

$180k - $270k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust, high-performance control plane and observability infrastructure.
  • Build monitoring infrastructure for I/O counters, latency, temperature, performance, and errors.
  • Implement control interfaces for system, drive, power, firmware, encryption, and LED management.
  • Analyze and reduce boot drive logging while developing infrastructure for advanced log data recorder tools.
  • Collaborate across teams to identify issues and improve system reliability.
  • Manage and troubleshoot system logs and data for optimal performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improved software development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • At least 3 years of software development and systems engineering experience.
  • Experience using Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
  • Proficiency building distributed systems and control plane functionality.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus.
  • Familiarity with fb303, scribe, and t-digest.
  • Understanding of gRPC or other interprocess communication technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, technical analysis, design, and collaboration skills.
