Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain installation packages and deployment solutions for Windows and Linux.
- Develop installation tools, automation, and scripts using C#, C++, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Use Windows Installer and InstallShield for installation packaging, configuration, and deployment.
- Support containerized deployment environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Integrate installation and deployment workflows with Git, Perforce, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Support SQL and NoSQL database configuration and connectivity requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex installation and deployment issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Develop automated tests and validation processes to improve installation reliability.
- Evaluate and validate AI-generated code and recommendations for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow established software engineering practices.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of software development experience, preferably in installation, deployment, build, release, or related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and software installation, configuration, and deployment concepts.
- Strong experience with Windows Installer and InstallShield or comparable enterprise installation technologies.
- Proficiency in one or more of C#, C++, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized software deployment.
- Ability to use or rapidly adopt AI-assisted software development tools and critically validate their output.
- Understanding of software installation and deployment processes, automation, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience in an Agile software development environment.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies and their installation and configuration requirements.
- Experience with Git and Perforce.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
