Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and document complex embedded firmware applications.
- Develop real-time control and protection algorithms, including PID control, state machines, digital filtering, power sequencing, fault detection, and protection logic.
- Develop and maintain communication and device-management protocol stacks, including CAN, Modbus, USB, PLDM, and MCTP.
- Create software requirements, architecture specifications, detailed designs, and interface definitions.
- Test, debug, and validate firmware functionality, performance, reliability, and safety.
- Analyze firmware and system behavior to identify root causes, optimize performance, and improve product quality.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, software quality, test automation, and documentation.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers and field teams, including occasional customer visits.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, manufacturing, and global engineering teams throughout product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
- Experience developing microcontroller-based embedded applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with CAN, USB, I²C, UART, and SPI interfaces.
- Familiarity with Modbus, PLDM, and MCTP protocols.
- Experience with uC/OS or a similar RTOS-based embedded software environment.
- Practical knowledge of Git or similar software version-control tools.
- Hands-on experience with embedded debugging and laboratory test equipment.
- Experience developing control algorithms is preferred.
