Base Salary
$198k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and extend Hex’s API and CLI for sophisticated technical users.
- Design MCP server and client implementations to expand access to Hex capabilities.
- Design and implement role-based access control, admin request and approval flows, and tiered administrative roles.
- Own full-stack product changes from backend policy enforcement through admin-facing workflows.
- Propose and implement well-architected, scalable systems in collaboration with the broader Hex team.
Requirements
- At least five years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building complex systems with intricate business logic.
- Deep interest in or experience developing agentic workflows involving disparate systems and tools.
- Experience working in a remote-first team and communicating effectively in that context.
- Hands-on familiarity with SSO, SCIM-based provisioning, audit logs, MFA, and delegated access.
- Ability to collaborate through RFCs, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Strategic and pragmatic judgment balancing business and product goals with engineering excellence.
- Willingness to work across the stack to drive impact.
