Responsibilities

  • Secure telematics systems and over-the-air updates.
  • Implement cybersecurity at the telematics-component and vehicle levels with full AIS 189 and AIS 190 compliance documentation.
  • Identify attack paths and conduct TARA, risk assessments, penetration testing, and validation activities.
  • Implement end-to-end CSMS and SUMS processes according to Daimler internal requirements.
  • Perform automotive-system penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Apply secure communication, encryption, key management, secure boot, trusted execution environments, and network-security practices.
  • Design and implement IoT solutions connecting automotive gateways to cloud infrastructure.
  • Pilot new technology-development methods, tools, and processes through benchmarking and evaluation.
  • Facilitate ideation workshops and develop cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Prepare proof-of-concepts, proof-of-values, whitepapers, business cases, and Board or OpCom presentation materials.
  • Evaluate proposals and technologies and help create product roadmaps and strategic plans.

Requirements

  • BE or ME with up to 8 years of experience and knowledge of cybersecurity.
  • Strong experience securing telematics systems and OTA updates.
  • Strong experience with automotive TARA, risk assessment, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Deep understanding of ISO/SAE 21434, SAE J3061, and automotive cybersecurity requirements.
  • Understanding of ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, MISRA, automotive communication protocols, and diagnostics protocols.
  • Proficiency in embedded systems security for vehicles.
  • Knowledge of hardware security mechanisms, secure boot, trusted execution environments, cloud security, IAM, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, MQTT, TCP/IP, UDS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, and IoT architectures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of the automotive market and industry best practices.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or automotive cybersecurity certifications such as ISO/SAE 21434 are relevant.
  • Basic experience in technology development, product development, leadership, and project-sponsor outreach.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, strategic-thinking, stakeholder-management, collaboration, and communication abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working with ambiguity and uncertainty.
