Base Salary
$197k - $292k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop cybersecurity architectures compliant with ISO/SAE 21434 and UN R155 across all vehicle lifecycle phases.
- Implement UN R156-compliant Software Update Management Systems with secure OTA updates, cryptographic verification, and ECU version control.
- Conduct ISO 21434 TARA activities addressing attack vectors identified in UN R155 Annex 5.
- Design hardware-rooted controls for automotive SoCs, including secure boot, HSMs, and TEEs.
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers on ISO 21434 supply-chain security and UN R155 post-production obligations.
- Develop security requirements for AI/ML systems in autonomous-driving platforms, including model-integrity and adversarial-attack protections.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience designing and deploying security solutions for embedded automotive systems.
- Expertise in automotive communication protocol security, including CAN bus hardening and Ethernet intrusion detection.
- Experience with cryptographic engineering for resource-constrained environments, including ECC optimization and post-quantum cryptography prototyping.
- Proficiency with JTAG, UART, Trace32, Vector CANoe, Wireshark, SOME/IP, ODX/PDX scripting, and UDS exploit development.
- Strong C, C++, or Rust systems programming skills for bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Experience implementing secure OTA updates and real-time vehicle-network intrusion detection systems.
- Ability to lead threat modeling, security code reviews, and mentoring in secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR Classic and AUTOSAR Adaptive security components.
- Preferred experience includes OpenXC, SavvyCAN, autonomous-vehicle sensor security, hardware security evaluation, vehicle penetration-testing rigs, automotive vulnerability research, secure boot, HSM provisioning, TEE architectures, automotive firmware reverse engineering, CI/CD pipelines with SBOM generation, and HIL security testing.
