Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test firmware for electronic equipment used in smart grid, gas, and water utility markets.
- Design embedded systems using microcontrollers, sensors, and analog/digital interface circuits.
- Develop and execute verification test plans.
- Establish and meet schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
- Support new products through the full product life cycle and assist with existing products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent engineering degree, or commensurate experience.
- Three to five years of embedded firmware/software programming experience.
- In-depth experience with embedded microprocessor-based design and analog/digital device interfacing.
- Hands-on experience programming embedded systems in C and using multiple IDEs for development and debugging.
- Strong understanding of real-time systems, interrupts, threads, scheduling, semaphores, and state machines with and without an RTOS.
- Hands-on knowledge of wired and wireless communication protocols and topologies, including Ethernet, I2C, RS232, RS485/422, SPI, and BLE.
