Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality safety-critical C/C++ firmware for real-time embedded platforms.
  • Design firmware architecture and implementations for quality, testability, sustainability, maintainability, and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Develop firmware for embedded microcontrollers that collect sensor data, calculate energy metering parameters, and control low-voltage power distribution.
  • Support new product design, testing, troubleshooting, design reviews, documentation, verification, manufacturing release, sustaining activities, and field validation.
  • Diagnose and resolve defects in existing products.
  • Develop BSP-level bootloaders and communication drivers and manage real-time concurrency and resource sharing.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, management, project leads, quality assurance, and other cross-functional teams to meet schedule, budget, quality, and performance goals.
  • Maintain organized project records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in C and strong knowledge of coding practices for functional and structural software quality, portability, and reusability.
  • Experience integrating real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS and managing concurrency and resource sharing in real-time environments.
  • Ability to work within processing, memory, I/O, timing, and other limitations of small-range microcontrollers.
  • Experience implementing BSP-level bootloaders and communication drivers such as RS232, RS485, I2C, and SPI.
  • Experience programming 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers, including Freescale Kinetis, TI MSP, ARM Cortex-M, or Microchip PIC families.
  • Strong written and contextual communication, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with DSP algorithms and ADC techniques is a plus.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, MPLAB, and Eclipse IDE is a plus.
  • Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and logic analyzers for troubleshooting.
