Responsibilities
- Develop AI/ML applications and agent-based solutions that automate power-plant engineering workflows, control logic generation, graphics configuration, reporting, and decision support.
- Analyze DCS/SCADA and plant historian time-series data to identify abnormal patterns, degradation, performance losses, and predictive opportunities.
- Apply anomaly detection, diagnostics, predictive capabilities, and AI agents to real-world power-plant operational challenges.
- Translate plant operating behavior, control logic, alarms, procedures, and historian trends into AI use cases and agent workflows.
- Integrate AI outputs into dashboards, alerts, and engineering workflows without compromising plant safety or control integrity.
- Test, validate, monitor, and tune deployed AI solutions for reliability and low false-alarm rates using operational feedback and historical fault data.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, software, data, reliability, sales, and marketing teams to validate insights and coordinate improvements.
- Troubleshoot deployed analytics and AI tools and continuously improve their performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Control Systems, Power Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–8 years of experience in coal-fired, combined-cycle, or utility power plants with knowledge of plant operations, control processes, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with DCS platforms, preferably Emerson Ovation, including control logic, alarm management, plant monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of boilers, turbines, generators, combustion controls, and balance-of-plant operations.
- Experience developing Python-based AI applications involving data processing, API integration, and workflow automation.
- Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar.
- Ability to convert power-plant operational knowledge and procedures into AI agent use cases and intelligent automation solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with Emerson Ovation or other power-plant control systems including ABB, Honeywell, Siemens, GE, or Yokogawa.
- Preferred: hands-on experience developing AI agents, operator assistants, troubleshooting tools, or industrial knowledge-management solutions.
- Preferred: knowledge of machine learning, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, time-series analytics, vector databases, cloud AI platforms, and industrial data integration.
