Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and test firmware for wireless communication and networking devices.
- Contribute to product design specifications, including functional requirements, use cases, detailed designs, interfaces, and test plans.
- Contribute to design verification testing processes and procedures.
- Assist with planning and supporting Alpha and Beta phase field installations.
- Contribute to product- and system-level test efforts.
- Design industry-standard interfaces where required.
- Support company values, safety policies, ethics requirements, and professional interactions with internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
- 1–3 years of experience.
- Experience developing test automation.
- Preferred programming experience in C, C++, or C#.
- Preferred firmware development experience for embedded systems and development with real-time operating systems.
- Preferred experience using embedded-system development and debugging tools.
- Preferred familiarity with wireless communication and networking protocols, RF networks, security encryption, and packet-based networks.
- Preferred familiarity with 802.15.4e, 6LoWPAN, SNMPv2/3, DHCPv6, FTP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a typical office environment, occasionally drive, perform basic physical activities, lift or move up to 10 pounds, and view a computer screen for extended periods.
- Must be able to see, hear, and speak English and complete required OSHA/Safety Training; safety equipment may be required when applicable.
