Responsibilities
- Define solution architectures aligned with manufacturing strategy and business objectives.
- Integrate manufacturing technologies and enterprise systems including MES, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, ERP, PLM, QMS, and Maximo.
- Lead Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 architecture initiatives involving IIoT, edge computing, predictive maintenance, digital twins, AI/ML, and manufacturing analytics.
- Evaluate technologies, cloud services, platforms, and vendors for manufacturing modernization.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards, cybersecurity requirements, OT/IT best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across solution discovery, architecture, implementation, and production support.
- Develop architecture blueprints, integration designs, system diagrams, and data-flow documentation.
- Design integration strategies using APIs, middleware, OPC-UA, MQTT, and other industrial communication protocols.
- Lead architecture reviews, identify technical risks, recommend mitigations, and drive architecture governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams on process mapping, solution design, system configuration, and integration planning.
- Participate in Agile sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and architecture reviews.
- Contribute hands-on to application development when required.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Systems Integration, or related IT leadership roles.
- 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in manufacturing, industrial automation, or smart factory environments.
- Experience as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect supporting large-scale manufacturing organizations.
- Proven experience designing enterprise integrations across manufacturing and business systems.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, industrial technologies, machine reliability, and enterprise asset management platforms.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, PLM, QMS, AWS, and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Deep understanding of OT/IT integration, APIs, middleware, OPC-UA, MQTT, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience implementing Industry 4.0 technologies and predictive maintenance solutions using sensor data, machine learning and AI models, mobile applications, notifications, and enterprise integrations.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles across OT and IT environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, solution design, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- TOGAF, ArchiMate, SAP PP/ME, Rockwell, Siemens, AWS Solution Architect, Microsoft Azure Solution Architect, PMP, Agile, or Scrum certifications are preferred.
- Hands-on application development experience is highly desirable.
