Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain antivirus, SSL inspection, IDS/IPS, and content-filtering features in enterprise router firmware and software stacks.
- Develop deep packet inspection and signature-based detection engines for malware, exploits, and malicious traffic.
- Integrate threat intelligence feeds and update mechanisms for evolving security threats.
- Optimize packet processing for high performance, real-time detection, and minimal latency.
- Collaborate with product managers and system architects on the security roadmap and feature priorities.
- Work with QA and DevOps teams on test cases, validation frameworks, and automated regression testing.
- Conduct vulnerability analysis, performance benchmarking, debugging, and optimization of security modules.
- Stay current with network security standards, protocols, and emerging threats.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in embedded or network security software development.
- Hands-on experience or understanding of SSL/TLS inspection, secure proxy implementations, IDS/IPS, DPI, packet inspection engines, DNS-based content filtering, antivirus, and sandboxing.
- Proficiency in C and C++, with strong knowledge of the Linux networking stack and kernel modules.
- Familiarity with Suricata, Snort, ClamAV, OpenSSL, and libpcap.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, NAT, routing, and QoS networking fundamentals.
- Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance-tuning skills.
- Strong documentation and communication abilities.
- Preferred: experience developing for enterprise or ISP-grade routers and gateways and familiarity with UniFi platforms.
