Responsibilities
- Develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, classification, localization, and tracking using UAV camera payloads.
- Write and test software that integrates machine learning algorithms into aircraft, autopilots, payloads, and other robotic systems.
- Explore, visualize, clean, and validate data, including identifying distribution differences and verifying data quality.
- Create objectives, models, metrics, experiments, and validation strategies for machine learning systems.
- Analyze and rank ML algorithms, study model errors, and design strategies to improve real-world performance.
- Select appropriate datasets, data representations, algorithms, tools, and hardware to meet model-latency requirements.
- Support requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, test and evaluation, and verification and validation activities.
- Manage available hardware, data, and personnel resources to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer vision and machine learning or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in mathematics, optimization, computer science or engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace, or mechanical engineering.
- At least 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with C/C++, Matlab, office software, and computer-based productivity tools.
- Proficiency with a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or Keras, Python, scikit-learn, pandas, and OpenCV.
- Familiarity with Linux and expertise in visualizing and manipulating large datasets.
- Knowledge of computational statistics, mathematical optimization, data mining, exploratory data analysis, and predictive analytics.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and select hardware capable of running ML models with required latency.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, solve problems, communicate clearly, take ownership, and work under moderate supervision in a fast-paced environment.
