Base Salary
$150k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and optimize embedded software for camera platforms, including ARM, microcontrollers, and SoCs.
- Develop firmware and hardware abstraction layers for sensors, communication modules, and peripherals.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on board bring-up, integration, troubleshooting, camera performance, power management, and hardware driver integration.
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests and perform low-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and emulators.
- Define technical requirements, participate in design reviews, and document code, technical designs, and development processes.
- Work with cloud software teams to design APIs, protocols, and features supporting device-to-cloud connectivity.
- Support production, QA, and field teams with deployment and issue resolution.
- Partner with product managers and quality engineers on system testing and product performance and reliability standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5–10 years of embedded software development experience with Embedded Linux platforms.
- Professional C++ experience and familiarity with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or ThreadX and bare-metal programming.
- Experience with embedded systems, hardware interfaces, build systems, firmware upgrade mechanisms, and low-level debugging.
- Knowledge of Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, and related communication protocols and security concepts.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Preferred experience with camera or home security products, the Linux kernel, device drivers, and leading embedded device development.
