Base Salary

$180k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

Build and operate distributed systems for voice agents, including load-balancing servers, workers, and real-time media pipelines.
Take projects from specification through design, implementation, launch, monitoring, and iteration.
Make architectural decisions around latency budgets, reliability targets, and scaling primitives.
Define developer experience through APIs, observability, and applied evaluations.
Write clear specifications and participate actively in design reviews.

At least 3 years of experience building distributed backend systems in production.
Strong product judgment for platform work, focused on customer-facing latency, reliability, and developer experience.
Ability to reason about backend architecture, design tradeoffs, and long-term technical decisions.
Fluent day-to-day use of AI coding tools and interest in keeping pace with the field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with Go and/or Python in a backend platform context is preferred.
Production experience with real-time media systems such as WebRTC, SIP, RTP, or low-latency audio is preferred.
Experience with cloud and infrastructure primitives such as Kubernetes, Docker, NATS, gRPC, and OpenTelemetry is preferred.
Experience with distributed systems at scale, including throughput, autoscaling, and multi-region architectures, is preferred.
Experience with voice agents or agent frameworks such as Pipecat, LiveKit, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude SDK, or Vercel AI SDK is preferred.
